The forgotten patrimonial grape varieties of the Bordeaux vineyard: towards a prospective enrichment of Bordeaux wines

Do you know Bouchales, St Macaire, Muscadelle, Sauvignon Gris, Carmenère, and Castet?

In collaboration with Wine Mosaic and with the help of the company “Histoire d’Hommes et de Terroirs” located in Bordeaux, we will present a study that shows the history of Bordeaux grape varieties and how 15 local grape varieties have virtually disappeared from the vineyard landscape. Discover why and how we have witnessed a renewal of these grape varieties, which are being studied and replanted and now vinified.

A tasting will follow with the winemakers who work these grape varieties – Château de la Vieille Chapelle, Chateau de Cappes, Chateau de Bellevue, Chateau des Chapelains and an experimental wine from Castet proposed by the Chamber of Agriculture of the Aude.

Entering the US Market : An Insider’s Perspective

Get ready for an information-packed seminar on how to penetrate the U.S. market.  If you’ve ever asked yourself these questions, then make a point to attend  this session.  Speaker Steve Raye wills share valuable insights, tools and tactics to help you plan for U.S. market entry.  If you have ever asked any of these questions, you’ll find this session particularly valuable:

  • Why is it that everybody in the “Three-Tier System” seems to be making more money on my wine than I am?
  • How can I find the right importer?
  • I have an importer, but they’re not sharing information with me so I have no idea of what’s going on with my business in America.  How do I get them to even return my phone calls?
  • What’s the right/best market for me to introduce my brand in or expand distribution to?
  • Everyone says I should be doing social media and talking to Millennials, but I’m busy making wine.  Are there ways for me to use the internet to market my wine that make sense for me?
